Papad

Papad is a delicious snack. It is consumed at homes, hotels, restaurants,hotels, etc. Papad is a traditional item consumed in all functions. It is essentially a wafer like product , round in shape and made from dough of powdered pulses , spices, powdered chilly & salt . Variety of Pulses & proportion of Pulses vary from region to region depending upon preferences of local people . Traditional this activity was confined to household papad making but in view of increasing demand it has now been developed in cottage & small scale sector .

Process of manufacture

Papad can be manufactured from different variety of pulses or there could be combination of pulses as well. Adequate quantity of water is added in flour of pulses, common salt & spices and homogenous mixing is done to obtain dough . After about 30 minutes , small balls weighing around 7-8 grams of dough are made. These balls are then placed in papad making machine or can be hand rolled also to make a circular papad as per size requirement. Then it must be dried properly before packing.

Potato Flakes, Potato Starch, Potato Granules, Sindhalun Salt (Rock Salt) and Refined Palmolive Oil.
